Seong-il Kwon, Kyomunim
Rev. Seong-il Kwon is a Kyomunim, which literally translates to one who devotes oneself to teaching Buddha dharma in the Won Buddhist tradition. He graduated from the Department of Won Buddhism at Won Kwang University and earned an M.A. in Won Buddhist Studies from the Won Buddhist Graduate School in Iksan, Korea.
After receiving ordination as a Kyomunim in 2019, Rev. Seong-il had previously served at the Silim Temple in Seoul, Korea. He began serving at the Manhattan Won Buddhist Temple in December 2023.
