In Won Buddhism, December 1 is observed as Spiritual Thanksgiving (Myongjeol Daejae)—a memorial day to honor all sages, ancestors, family members, and friends who have passed away. Though their physical presence is no longer with us, their love, wisdom, and guidance continue to shine within us and illuminate our lives.

Just as Thanksgiving invites us to gather in gratitude, Spiritual Thanksgiving calls us to extend that gratitude to those who came before us—to remember, honor, and celebrate the lives that have shaped our own.

Our temple will hold the Annual Spiritual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 6.
To prepare for and commemorate this meaningful occasion, we invite you to submit the names of loved ones you wish to honor during this dedication. All names submitted will be read aloud and honored during the memorial dedication on Sunday, December 6, and included in our five-day morning dedication practice via Zoom. As you do so, you are warmly encouraged to make a memorial donation in their honor, offering gratitude through mindful giving.

5-Day Morning Dedication: Remembering Our Beloved (Online)

To prepare for and commemorate this meaningful time, we invite you to join a 5-day morning dedication from Tuesday, December 1 to Saturday, December 5, held daily from 6:00–7:00 AM (ET) on Zoom.
