Temple Kitchen: For Mindful and Healthy Cooking

We warmly invite you to our temple kitchen where the art of cooking converges with practice of mindfulness and health. As you learn to prepare nourishing, delicious dishes, you will also be introduced to the practice of mindful eating, savoring each ingredient and moment in the kitchen.

This experience isn’t just about cooking; it’s an opportunity to enjoy the process, have fun with fellow dharma friends, and deepen your appreciation for every bite. So, come and hang out in our temple kitchen. It’s going to be a delicious, mindful journey.

Please note that the temple will prepare all ingredients for the session.
Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to RSVP soon to ensure your participation. After cooking, we will all gather to enjoy the Japchae together. It’s going to be a delicious, mindful journey!

This time we will make Japchae (Stir-Fried Starch Noodles with Vegetables). Japchae (잡채) literally means “mixed vegetables.” However, the main ingredient of this classic dish is Korean sweet potato starch noodles (dangmyeon, 당면), also known as glass noodles. Japchae is an essential dish for traditional holidays and special occasions.
